VIJAYAWADA: Municipal minister and vice-chairman of AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) P Narayana said that the public would ‘reject’ the Opposition parties’ allegations when the houses being built for officials and legislators are ready for them to see.
Speaking to the media after reviewing the ongoing projects in the capital region on Friday, Narayana claimed that Amaravati was the only city in the world to have reached an advanced stage of development within such a short span of time. “In four years, we have achieved great progress. However, the Opposition leaders continue to make allegations that no structure has come up.
The 61 residential towers and bungalows being built for the officials and public representatives will be ready by December 31 this year. Then, the public will reject the Opposition parties,” he said.
He further explained that the permanent secretariat works have begun and that the tenders of the High Court, with 23 lakh sq ft built up area, will be finalised by the end of July. “The five-towered Secretariat with a built up area of 59 lakh sq ft will attain shape by March next year. All the five towers will be ready in 24 months. The Judicial Complex, which would house the civil courts in two lakh sq ft area, will be ready by December this year,” Narayana explained.
The minister further fumed at Opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for alleging that no brick has been laid yet in the capital region. “I don’t know if he said it intentionally or not, but it is true that no single brick has been laid so far, since we are using the Shear Wall technology. We haven’t used any bricks,” he said.
