VIJAYAWADA: The State government may earn a whopping `1,000 crore through confiscation of properties amassed by corrupt government officers if it gets a favourable verdict in all the 112 disproportionate assets (DA) cases filed in the last three years.

This information was given by RP Thakur, director general of police (DGP) and director general (DG) of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

Addressing the media after conducting a half-yearly review of ACB on Tuesday, Thakur said that all the DA and ‘trap’ cases filed after 2016 would come up for trial at the ACB special courts and the trial process would be completed within a year. It would take another six months for the confiscation of the illegally acquired properties.
