Government told to file plea in SC under Art 300

YSRC Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Sai Reddy has demanded that the State government file a petition in the Supreme Court under Article 300 of the Constitution for protecting the interests of the State.

VIJAYAWADA: YSRC Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Sai Reddy has demanded that the State government file a petition in the Supreme Court under Article 300 of the Constitution for protecting the interests of the State.
“The TDP had sought legal sanctity to the special package announced by the Centre in lieu of special category status (SCS). There will be no use with filing a fresh petition in High Court. It will end up as a political drama,” Vijay Sai Reddy said.

Speaking to mediapersons in New Delhi on Monday, Vijay Sai Reddy said that the YSRC had issued a notice seeking debate in the Rajya Sabha on special category status, non-implementation of provisions the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014. It will come up for debate this week, he said.

Meanwhile, the YSR Congress has appointed Vijay Sai Reddy as the leaders of the YSRC Parliamentary Party. YSRC chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy, in a letter to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar and Secretary Generals of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha conveyed the decision of the party.
