VIJAYAWADA: The video a BSNL employee recorded before committing suicide accusing a financier of “tormenting” him to repay loans has emerged. A Rambabu hanged himself at his residence in Thotlavallur of Vuyyur mandal on June 27, but the issue came to light only on Sunday after the deceased’s daughter approached Vuyyur Police with the video Rambabu had filmed.
The deceased reportedly took a loan of Rs1 lakh at a high-interest rate from a private money lender a few months ago. He, however, did not name the man in the video. Vuyyur Police have taken the video as a statement of the deceased and filed a case.
“He reportedly borrowed money from call money organizers in the city. When the financiers demanded that he sell his house to repay the loan, a devastated Rambabu took the extreme step. “Following his daughter’s complaint, a case has been registered and an investigation launched,” Vuyyur sub-inspector Srinivas said.
