Effective performance management system to track Amaravati progress

In a teleconference with the CRDA officials on Sunday, Naidu said that the capital city should get a visible shape in the next six months.

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) to develop an Effective Performance Management System (EPMS) to track the progress of the construction of Amaravati. He also instructed the officials to prepare monthly action plans to speed up the construction works.

In a teleconference with the CRDA officials on Sunday, Naidu said that the capital city should get a visible shape in the next six months. “You should create an effective performance management system to increase performance and help meet the goals of capital construction. The special mechanism should assess the quantity of work to be done,” he said, adding that he would not allow any sort of delay.

The Chief Minister also told them to take up the construction works round the clock so as to meet the six-month target. “Our credibility among people will increase only when the construction picks up the pace and we deliver what we promised. To achieve this, I will provide you whatever you want,” he said. Speaking on the occasion, CRDA commissioner Cherukuri Sreedhar informed the CM that about 51 per cent of total construction works worth `23,294 crore are in progress.

“We have targeted to complete 3,840 flats for government employees and 186 bungalows for ministers and other officials by October 2018,” he explained.
