House patta regularisation: CPM stages dharna in Vijayawada

VIJAYAWADA: Demanding regularisation of house pattas for the eligible, activists of Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a demonstration in front of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) office on Thursday.

Addressing a gathering at the protest camp, CPM State secretary P Madhu alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had utterly failed to provide housing facility for the poor, and regularisation of house pattas for the eligible poor.

He threatened to intensify their agitation if the state government failed to respond to the issue by June 20.
Later, CPM Capital Region Committee convener Ch Babu Rao submitted a memorandum to City Mayor Koneru Sreedhar, seeking him to address the issue and protect the interest of homeless poor.
