VIJAYAWADA: With the State government keen to showcase the development done in Amaravati, the AP Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has decided to establish three ‘Experience Centres’ in the capital region. The Experience Centre proposed by the authority should not be confused with the Experience Centre to be developed by the Singapore Consortium in the Start-up area.
The three Experience Centres would be built at an estimated cost of about `5.5 crore, and are expected to be ready in four months. Speaking about the project, a senior official told TNIE that the proposed centres will showcase the achievements of the government including the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) model and others. “The experience centres will be open to the public which they can visit to get a feel of how the LPS layouts are being developed. It will also give a glimpse into how the capital is being developed. We have already released the tenders for the same and they are to be developed in four months,” the official said.
He said the tenders can be filed till June 27 and the developer would be finalised by the end of July.
The three centres would be established in Zone 1, Zone 7 and Zone 10 of the capital region. “All of them have the same facilities. There is a screening centre where videos would be shown to the public. There will be a gallery as well where milestone achievements would be showcased. Besides facilities for the public, there will be chambers for CRDA officials including the commissioner. If the public want to interact with the officials, they can do so,” the official explained.
The official said that the project would also serve the future generations who would know how the capital city was built from the scratch. Meanwhile, the Amaravati Development Corporation Ltd (ADCL) has called for tenders for landscaping of parks at Malkapuram and Anantavaram, and for installing micro irrigation system along major roads in the capital for maintaining greenery and other purposes. An estimated ` 28 crore would be spent on the project.
