VIJAYAWADA: Farmers from Gannavaram, who had given land for expansion of the airport under Land Pooling Scheme (LPS), met AP Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) commissioner Cherukuri Sreedhar, on Tuesday, requesting the release of yearly annuity for crops. The farmers’ delegation was led by Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan.

Speaking on the occasion, the farmers of Kesarapalli, Budhavaram, Ajjampudi, Chinoutpalli and other villages, informed the commissioner that the payment has been pending for the last two years. The farmers had also made suggestions to the draft LPS layout for returnable plots released by the authority in the first week of June. They have three more weeks to raise objections and submit suggestions, before the CRDA finalises the layout. Sreedhar assured that he would look into the issue.

Meanwhile, the CRDA has cleared nine applications which were filed seeking permission to construct buildings at the open forum held in Navuluru village earlier in the day. Out of the 11 applications received, the officials have given preliminary approval to the ones which have all the requisite documents. Development Promotion wing Director (CRDA) K Naga Sundari, and zonal assistant directors were present on the occasion.
