VIJAYAWADA: After being allegedly humiliated by his wife at the police station, a man committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling at his house in Chatrai mandal of Krishna district on Thursday.
According to sources, the deceased was identified as Ch Kishore (22), who along with his wife approached the police over a family dispute. The couple exchanged heated arguments when the officials reportedly tried to counsel them. In a fit of rage, Kishore’s wife slapped him with a slipper inside the police station in front of his family members.
Kishore who felt humiliated, returned to his house and hanged himself. Tension prevailed for a while near the police station, when the family members of the deceased staged rasta roko blaming the police for the death of their kin. Nuzvid DSP spoke to the protestors and pacified them.
