Line inspector owns properties worth Rs 8 crore

Sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted simultaneous searches at the residences of AP Transco line inspector Sure Lakshmi Reddy and his relatives in Kavali town.

VIJAYAWADA:  Sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted simultaneous searches at the residences of AP Transco line inspector Sure Lakshmi Reddy and his relatives in Kavali town and Jaladanki in Nellore district and Valluru of Prakasam district on Thursday and unearthed disproportionate properties. Though the value of the assets was ` 1.8 crore, their estimated market value would be around ` Rs 7- 8 crore. 

Lakshmi Reddy is a line inspector in the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, AP Transco, Bogolu sub-station in Nellore district.Lakshmi Reddy joined government service in 1993 as helper in Kavali sub-station and was promoted as assistant lineman in 1996 and posted in Chamadala village of Kavali rural.
Properties owned by the line inspector include G+1 residential building in Kavali town, a house site in Musunuru (Kavali municipality),  agriculture land in Chandrapadiya in Vinjamuru mandal and Gatupallie of Jaladanki mandal.

The ACB officials also seized a Maruthi Swift Desire and Royal Enfield Bullet.
The assets that were found in the name of the tainted officer’s wife Subhashini include 3 houses (two G+1 residential buildings in Kavali), G+2 residential building,  and agriculture land and lease agreement of aqua ponds in Bogole mandal.The ACB officials also found properties registered in the name of Lakshmi Reddy’s father, son and his in-laws.Bank balance of the official stood at ` 9.95 lakh.Officials of the ACB registered a case against Lakshmi Reddy and produced him before court.
