Naidu to lay foundation stone for NRT Icon project today at AGC

APNRT expects project will help create high-wage jobs for 2,000 to 3,000 people.

VIJAYAWADA:  Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation for NRT Icon, a 33-stroreyed building, which is the first direct investment project by the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu (APNRT) Society. The high-rise building, which will be developed as a mixed-use zone with both commercial, residential and recreational area, will come up near the Amaravati Government Complex (AGC) in Rayapudi.

According to information, NRT Icon will be constructed in five acres with an estimated cost of Rs 400 crore. CM Naidu is scheduled to participate in the foundation stone-laying ceremony at 10 a.m., a representative of APNRT Society said. Flags of over 90 countries representing the APNRT society, have been erected near the construction site.

The APNRT Society, which is promoting NRT Icon as ‘a real estate property with minimal risk’, is expecting the project to help create high-wage jobs for about 2,000-3,000 people. “The project will have office spaces, convention centres, meeting rooms and other workplace features of nine lakh sqft built-up area. It would also have residential facilities like garden apartments and recreational spaces such as terrace gardens, spa and infinity pool,” the members of the society said. However, the unique features of the project are a rotating restaurant in the nucleus of the building, a rotating globe, a rooftop pool, an NRT club, and a gymnasium, the members added.
