9,241 clear LLR test in Krishna district

Candidates attending the mela were also made aware about road safety measures to be followed.

VIJAYAWADA: As many as 9,241 candidates cleared the Learner’s License (LLR) test conducted by the Road Transport Authority (RTA) of Krishna district in association with CSC e-Governance Services India Limited in 140 villages between June 18 and 24, according to Deputy Transport Commissioner E Meera Prasad.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Meera Prasad said LLR mela organised by the department with the slogan “RTA Services at Your Doorstep,” is part of a state-wide campaign to ensure a licence for all drivers. The number of people to have registered for the LLR test was the highest in the district. As many as 11,262 candidates appeared for the test, out of which 9,241 cleared it and 2,021 failed it, he said.
According to the DTC, the mela kick started on June 18, covering 20 villages of the district each day, and concluded on June 24. Candidates attending the mela were also made aware about road safety measures to be followed.

Observing that majority of road accidents involve youth, Meera Prasad appealed to the parents not to give high-end bikes to their children.
