VIJAYAWADA: SRM University, AP-Amaravati is inviting application for admissions to undergraduate courses being offered at its School of Liberal Arts and Basic Science (SLABS). More than 240 students are likely to be enrolled for courses across 12 disciplines. The deadline to submit the application is July 15, 2018. It could be done by visiting its website www.srmap.edu.in.
The SLABS offers courses in Commerce, Economics, History, Psychology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Studies, English Studies, Journalism, Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Established in 2017, SRM University, AP-Amaravati’s says its vision is to emerge as a world-class university.
Rupesh Bisht, director (admissions) of the varsity, said: “The focus will be on multi-dimensional thought process to help students tackle complex issues. We hope to transform young learners into industry-ready professionals.” Provisional Admission Letter will be given to the selected students based on their performance in Class XII examinations and the interview round. The candidates would have an option to take up departmental or general electives.
They would also have the choice of opting for minors during the 3-year course duration. The courses at the institute also provide an opportunity to earn a diploma by spending an additional year at SLABS. Apart from the marks secured in the Board examinations, SRM’s counsellors would hold discussions with the candidates before they are admitted to a course.
