Vijayawada city police auction 33 unclaimed vehicles

As many as 33 unclaimed and abandoned vehicles were auctioned by the Vijayawada police on Wednesday.

VIJAYAWADA:  As many as 33 unclaimed and abandoned vehicles were auctioned by the Vijayawada police on Wednesday. The auctioned vehicles, included 31 motorcycles and two lorries, were used to commit crimes and remained unclaimed by their owners. The auction took place at Armed Reserve Ground between 10 am and 5 pm, which helped the police raise `4.68 lakh.Prior to the start of the auction, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Admin) J Brahma Reddy inspected the vehicles. Police further warned the buyers to only use the vehicles for scrap purposes, failing which will result in a criminal action.
