Northeast monsoon hits Chittoor

According to weathermen,  a low-pressure area is likely to develop over central parts of south Bay of Bengal around November 6.

VIJAYAWADA: Northeast monsoon rain arrived at isolated places in Chittoor district of Rayalaseema on Friday. From Thursday to Friday morning, several places across Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema regions received moderate to heavy rains. According to weathermen,  a low-pressure area is likely to develop over central parts of south Bay of Bengal around November 6.

According to IMD officials, the North-East monsoon is active across the State and will result in light to moderate rains in the next 2-3 days. Rains are likely to intensify in the Rayalaseema region once low-pressure forms in the Bay of Bengal.
