VIJAYAWADA: A 22-year-old CA student, K Sai Reddy, attempted to commit suicide by slitting his throat in front of police personnel at a coaching centre in Labbipet on Wednesday night because his classmate rejected his love proposal. The cops took the student to Andhra Hospitals for treatment and his condition is said to be stable.
Labbipet sub-inspector Chinna Babu said, “The coaching centre management informed us about the incident when we were patrolling. We rushed to the spot and tried to console Reddy, who slit his throat in front of us,” SI said. A case has been registered against Sai Reddy under Section 309 (attempt to commit suicide) of IPC.
