VIJAYAWADA: Three days after Two-Town police busted a prostitution racket run in residential apartments in the YSR Colony of Jakkampudi village, Machavaram police busted another gang involved in flesh trade in the guise of running beauty parlours on Thursday late night.

In a surprise raid conducted on two such establishments in Moghalrajpuram and Revenue Colony under Machavaram police station limits, the police arrested four persons, including two women.Acting on a tip-off that a few people were organising flesh trade in beauty parlours and massage centres, Machavaram Inspector Md Sahera formed a special team and conducted a surprise inspection on the two business establishments.

During interrogation, accused, and also the organiser, Kakarla Nandini admitted to her crime. “We have raided two establishments–Novel Beauty Parlour and Golden Beauty Parlour–and arrested four persons in this regard. While one accused is on the run, we have arrested Nandini, one of the organisers, on the spot. In these two establishments, the accused offered cross massages and indulged in prostitution. By luring the youth, they earned huge money,” the policeman said.

During the ongoing investigation, the accused told the police that possible customers were invited to the parlours through Whatsapp and other social media platforms.

“Girls and women from poor and middle class sections are being forced into flesh trade. To avoid youth from getting involved in this illegal activity, we are creating awareness among them to stay away from anti-social activities,” the police said. The youngsters are being asked to inform police if they came across any such incidents through ‘Cheruva’, they said, adding that they were getting a good response from the public regarding the same.A case was filed against the accused and the rescued women were sent to shelter homes for counselling.
