Amaravati Global Music and Dance festival 2018 begins

The second edition of the Amaravati Global Music and Dance festival 2018, conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority, began on a grand note on Friday.

VIJAYAWADA: The second edition of the Amaravati Global Music and Dance festival 2018, conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority, began on a grand note on Friday.

Minister of Tourism, Bhuma Akhila Priya said, “The Amaravati Global Music and Dance Festival has become an annual cultural meet of not only Andhra Pradesh but also the entire region just a year after its launch. We hope the second edition of the Amaravati Global Music and Dance Festival 2018 gives a boost to State tourism.”  

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Kodela Siva Prasad Rao, Bonda MLA Umamaheswara Rao from Vijayawada Central Constituency; Krishna District Collector B Lakshmikantham, CEO of Tourism Development Authority Himanshu Shukla, and CEO of Andhra Pradesh Creativity & Culture Commission D Vizai Bhaskar. 

Tribal and folk dance and Kuchipudi recital by Deepika Reddy, a leading exponent of Kuchipudi, enthralled the public. World’s first Hindi rapper, Baba Sehgal, also performed at the event.
