VIJAYAWADA: CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna wrote a letter to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Monday demanding the arrest of Dendulur MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar for allegedly attacking government officials and some individuals. In his letter, Ramakrishna deplored the CM’s dilly-dallying on initiating action against the unruly MLA, who, he said, was targeting officials and innocent citizens.

“Prabhakar’s behaviour is unacceptable and many incidents have proved beyond doubt his strong arm-twisting methods. It shows the undemocratic rule of the Telugu Desam government in the State. It’s been more than two months since a case under SC/ST Atrocity Act was filed, but no action has been taken against him. He did not spare  even Vigilance and Enforcement officials last month for stopping illegal sand mining and no official from the department concerned responded,” he said in his letter.

He lambasted the CM for ‘supporting’ the ‘criminal’ politician. “If Naidu is committed to maintaining law and order, he should take stringent action against criminal elements like Prabhakar and initiate impartial investigation,” the CPI leader demanded.
