Andhra Pradesh 'Tour De Heritage' cycle race enters 12th day

A 20-day bicycle tour, ‘AP - Tour De Heritage’ organised by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority (APTA) across the State has completed 12 days of its journey so far on Wednesday.

VIJAYAWADA:  A 20-day bicycle tour, ‘AP - Tour De Heritage’ organised by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority (APTA) across the State has completed 12 days of its journey so far on Wednesday.
The tour that began from Vijayawada and passed through Undavalli Caves, is now moving towards Giddalur from Nandyal. It will conclude at Visakhapatnam on December 7. Travelling on a bicycle from one place to another, experiencing the local flavour and knowing the history of various places and to bridge the gap between the remote and urban areas are the main objectives of the tour. 

It also aims at producing 10 episodes, revolving around celebrating the spirit of the cyclists and bringing various sights into limelight. These 10 episodes will also include experiences of various professional cyclists, who will cover a distance of 2,028 km over 21 days across the State.

The department has organised five concerts at Nellore, Nandyal, Bhimavaram and Srikakulam for the cyclists. They are proposed to celebrate the spirit of Andhra Pradesh as well as the journey of the cyclists. So far, the participants have enjoyed local cuisines, local art forms, farm lands such as the Redamma mess in Tirupati, The Handloom Factory, Agricultural Institute in Nandyal.

“The AP - Tour de Heritage is more than a cycling tour. It is also an inward journey for each of the cyclists. It is a story of passion, determination, grit and love for exploring Andhra Pradesh,” team leader Sekhar Gowd said.Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had flagged off this expedition on November 16 at Punnami Ghat, the same day on which F1H2O began.
