VIJAYAWADA: The TDP says that Telangana Chief Minister and TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao’s visits to other States and his meeting with the leaders of various political parties in the name of federal front will not yield any result.

A section of TDP leaders opined that KCR is making these visits at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi so as to weaken the platform of the non-BJP parties. TDP leaders argue that the pink party boss is in utter confusion about his future role in the national politics and is attempting to create room for himself by making such visits.

However, the TDP leaders are confident that the emergence of KCR’s federal front will not affect the efforts being put by TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu to play a key role in the national politics by uniting all the anti-BJP parties.

Speaking on KCR calling on DMK chief MK Stalin in Chennai on Monday, the TDP leaders felt that whether he got the invite from other parties or not, KCR is going to other States and roaming there for days till he gets the appointment of leaders. TDP national spokesperson Lanka Dinakar said KCR’s statements and his actions in the past proved that he has no stability.

“After promising to merge the TRS with the Congress, KCR consulted BJP veteran LK Advani and evinced interest to join the NDA after the 2014 elections. Now he is touring different States in the name of federal front despite knowing the fact that only the TRS and YSRC will be the part of it as the remaining parties have already joined an anti-BJP bandwagon,” Dinakar said.

The leaders, whom KCR met, themselves have expressed their stand clear that they will be in the anti-BJP platform and there is no question of taking another stand.

A senior TDP leader told TNIE that KCR was in utter confusion as to whether to join the NDA or the anti-BJP parties.

KCR, who is well aware of the fact that the BJP under the leadership of Modi will not let the regional parties survive, is at a crossroads now. “It was reported that KCR was eager to join the Congress-led front if it manages to form government at the Centre. But, there was no response from the TRS chief on the matter,” the TDP leader said and maintained that the tours of KCR will not dent the chances of Naidu in emerging as a strong leader at the national level.
