A group of young minds have committed themselves to bring together fun and learning on a platform called 3Dexter.
Technology is the most efficient and 3Dexter, with the same ideology, lays the foundation of ‘3 Dimensional’ learning in schools using physical models, substantiating its position in school curriculum by reasoning the importance of 3D printing. This stimulates the sense of problem solving among children.
Taking to the screens to develop skills
EuroKids International, India’s chain of pre-schools recently announced the launch of EuroVarsity, an online skill development platform. As part of its skill development initiative, EuroVarsity will conduct online courses and the first course to be launched on this platform is a program focused on Early Childhood Care and Education.
Financial planning made easier for students
L&T Mutual Fund has sponsored a unique investor education initiative — Finance GYM, started by the The Learning Curve Academy to inculcate financial planning in the youth. It aims to reach out to around 1,500 students across some of the top colleges in Mumbai. Finance GYM connects with students through various mediums such as an online simulation game, interactive in-classroom activities and physical collaterals for it’s objective is to ensure that it reaches its aim of each student being able to draw their financial plans at the end of ten classroom hours

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) recently unveiled its user’s guide to full-time MBA rankings, a comprehensive online tool for prospective graduate business students to understand the ranking methodologies. Available at mba.com/rankings, the interactive guide highlights the five major rankings by Bloomberg Businessweek, The Economist, The Financial Times, Forbes and US News & World Report by breaking down their methodologies across standardised weighting categories, identifying distinctive aspects of rankings, and presenting a compilation of other useful ranking information and analysis.
When a transformation is needed and required
On World Youth Skills Day, observed last week, Dr Ajay Kela, President and CEO, Wadhwani Foundation shared “The creation of a quality skilling ecosystem that results in family supporting wages for the trainees and accelerating job growth is a priority. If India needs to leverage its demographic dividend, vocationalisation of high schools and the transformation of ITIs should be taken up. At Wadhwani Foundation we are building technology solutions to game-change the learning and dissemination systems and working closely with Central and State Governments to reach scale.”
A speech that engaged and inspired students
A guest lecture was conducted at SA Engineering College on the topic ‘IT@2026’ recently. It was organised by the department of Information Technology. N Partheeban, HOD of IT delivered the welcome address. Thiru P Venketesh Raja, the director, was present and Dr PK Nagaragan, Principal, felicitated the occasion. Dr M Subramaniam honored the chief guests with momentos. Chief guest M Jeyhind, Business Consultant, Infosys, Chennai, delivered an inspiring speech to all the third year IT and second year MCA students. His speech was intended to pave the way for students to understand the future of IT and the skill set that every engineer should have to avail opportunities.
A befitting beginning to an exciting new academic year
The inaugural function for the first year Science and Humanities batch 2016-17, SRM University, Ramapuram, was conducted recently. Dr R Balasubramanian, director, faculty of Science and Humanities, delivered the inaugural address. He insisted that students have to “dream big”, so that their aim, target and goal will be big too. Dr TS Sridhar, Director, Ramapuram and Trichy campuses delivered the presidential address to the freshers. He advised students to learn the art of reading, conversation and writing skills to go a long way in their career and contribute more to the development of the society.
