Need some career advice?Ask Mani

I have completed mechanical engineering. I would like to work for manufacturing industries. My parents are forcing me to get into the software industry. I also have industrial experience through internships. A core job after graduation or PG or an IT job? Please suggest.
Since you would like to get a core job and work for manufacturing industries, it is best to do your M Tech in Mechanical or even production engineering. I would recommend that you choose that area of work which interests you and excel in the same; jobs will follow  meritorious and competent people. MBA in Industrial Engineering to is a good option.

I am pursuing second year in BSc Mathematics. Most of them suggest teaching profession, but I am not interested. After completing BSc, are there choices other than MSc? Please suggest other courses in mathematics.
The most logical option is to do MSc; you could choose to continue with Mathematics or explore Statistics as an option. Another good area to study further would be Actuarial Sciences. Incase you do not wish to in the teaching profession, you could choose to be an author and write  books or a researcher. Alternatively, you could move out of pure sciences and study an MBA and seek a job in any company. Yet another option could be to write the UPSC exams and try to qualify to be an IAS officer.
