UFC Review: Street fighting was never so much fun

This street fighting game from EA Sports is the bomb if you have the battery time to burn away and a killer processor to keep the graphics rolling
UFC Review: Street fighting was never so much fun

So you’ve done your spell with Ultimate Boxing and tried your hand with the smattering of wrestling games available on Play Store. The only thing that can reinvigorate your interest in First Person Knockout games again is the newly updated UFC from epic game makers EA Sports.

Delivered in a lighter, simpler package, the game mirrors the PC and Playstation modes with over 70 players on offer and excellent graphics support. Here’s the downside though — you’re probably never going to be able to afford any of the fancy, buffed up players at least till you’re 50 hours down. Or if you’re willing to spend a lot of cash buying in-app purchases you can slingshot into the major leagues, but hey, that’s not for everyone.
So if, like millions of others I suspect, you decide to play with the stock boxer you’re supplied with, your journey through the UFC ranks can be slow and cumbersome. It’s pretty much smooth sailing till level 25, after which the difference in ability between your player and the opponents is sizeable enough to push you to play a few rematches.

You can choose to keep going back to change the class of your fighter — cycling between bantamweight, flyweight, middleweight and heavyweight. The heavy graphics and extra-dimensional gameplay are awesome, especially if you have a 3GB RAM processor. Anything less and screen freezes and lags could be an issue. Spoiler alert: UFC is a battery sucker and can exhaust up to 40 percent if played with sound and near-full brightness.  As you progress through the upper levels, it gets tougher and tougher to beat clearly better-built opponents. So here’s a final tip — take every single power up and upgrade on offer from daily rewards, freebies, rating on FB, whatever.
