'The BJP has given tickets to the sons and daughters of several senior leaders. May others are being para-dropped while those who toiled hard for the party have been neglected,' said Singh.

NEW DELHI: An upbeat Congress showcased Sanjay Singh Masani, brother-in-law of Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who joined the party on Saturday.

"Today the state needs the Congress. It has been 13 years (BJP rule). It's time for a change," Singh said as he shared the dais with MP Congress chief Kamal Nath and campaign chief Jyotiraditya Scindia. Taking a dig at PM Modi's comment on "working" vs "ruling" class, the former BJP leader accused the saffron party of pursuing dynastic politics.

"The BJP has given tickets to the sons and daughters of several senior leaders. May others are being para-dropped while those who toiled hard for the party have been neglected," said Singh.

When asked how would he justify his charge while the names of chief minister's family members have been mentioned the Vyapam scam, Singh said he was a relative of Shivraj Chouhan and not his family member.

"My name is Sanjay Singh Masani. My ancestry and my gotra is separate. I am not a family member but a relative," he said, adding that brother, sister, wife, son and daughter comprise family and not brother-in-law.

Singh is the real brother of MP CM's wife Sadhna Singh. He listed lack of jobs, dying industry and no big investments as the reason for the crisis in the state.

Welcoming Singh, Kamal Nath said it was time to chart a new course for MP and expressed the hope that Masani would serve the Congress with the same zeal that he worked for the BJP in the past.
