JAIPUR: District Collectors across the state are turning to innovative ways to bring in voters and spread awareness about voting ahead of the Assembly elections in the state on December 7.

Games, cartoon characters, folk songs and even radio jingles are being employed to exhort voters to exercise their right on polling day.

Rajasthan Chief Electoral Officer Anand Kumar is leading the programme.

In the desert district of Churu,  the DM and Chief Returning Officer Muktanand Agarwal have deployed a series of  ‘Chhota Bheem’ (Mythological cartoon) comic stories. Likewise, in Ajmer, District Collector Aarti Dogra is making a creative use of the popular game of snakes and ladders to tell people about what they should or should not do to ensure a clean vote.

The move was lauded even by the Election Commission (EC).  In Hanumangarh, the Collector, Dinesh Jain is using a duck-like cartoon called ‘Votu’ to motivate people.
