NALGONDA: Senior Congress leader and former Union minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Sunday claimed that his party was truly devoted to the welfare of Telangana. Azad, who was campaigning with TJS convenor Kodandaram in Nalgonda town, said that Congress had facilitated the formation of Telangana in spite of the fact the move had ultimately been a blow to them. “Do consider the fact that we were wiped out of Andhra Pradesh due to this move,” he explained. Kodandaram and Azad were campaigning for the Grand Alliance’s candidate from Nalgonda constituency, Congress’ Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

Azad also claimed that TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao was behaving like a Nizam. “KCR has constructed his camp office using `300 crore of the exchequer’s money. Just like Modi at the Centre, Rao has done nothing for the welfare of the people,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kodandaram praised Azad, saying that he had played an important role in the formation of TS. TJS chief, too, criticised Chandrasekhar Rao and said that he was a ‘dictator’ who doesn’t have the right to rule Telagnana anymore. “KCR wishes to stay in power for the benefit of his family and contractors,” he said.
