People’s Front trying to woo voters with money: KT Rama Rao

KHAMMAM: Alleging that People’s Front is trying to win December 7 Assembly election by distributing money, TRS leader KT Rama Rao expressed the confidence that ‘people would teach them a befitting lesson’.

Rama Rao took part in road shows in Khammam and Palair constituencies, campaigning for party candidates Puvvada Ajay Kumar and Tummala Nageswara Rao on Tuesday.Addressing a large gathering at ZP Centre in Khammam town, he said: “Huge cash is coming in from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and New Delhi to be distributed among the people and to influence the upcoming elections.”

Urging the people to be cautious about such political parties which are resorting to buying votes, he also said: “Some parties are trying create rift among different castes and are hoping to benefit from such situations. It is your duty to put such parties and practices in check.”

Speaking about the Congress-led alliance, he said: “If People’s Front comes to power people will be facing electricity problems. Congress and TDP which ruled the State for close to six decades did not develop the State. But the State witnessed massive development under TRS’,” he said.

Welfare of poor

“Earlier pregnant women used to be afraid of visiting government hospitals. But now a record number of women are delivering their babies in government hospitals,” he said.  “(TRS chief) Chandrasekhar Rao is spending 43 paise out of one rupee for welfare of poor in the State.”

‘KTR welcome to campaign in Andhra’

Vijayawada: Exuding confidence that Congress-led People’s Front, of which TDP is a constituent will win Telangana elections, IT Minister Nara Lokesh welcomed his Telangana counterpart KT Rama Rao to campaign in Andhra Pradesh.  His reaction comes in the wake of KTR’s recent statement that TRS too will enter Andhra.
