Telangana elections: Ballot papers to be prepared in different languages

As per the ECI directions, the EVM ballot papers will be printed in multiple languages including Marathi and Urdu along with Telugu.

HYDERABAD: With Telangana Chief Electoral Officer publishing electoral rolls in four different languages for certain Assembly Constituencies in the State for easy understanding of voters and political parties, now the Election Commission of India (ECI) has decided to print the list of contesting candidates in four different languages in EVM ballot papers during the ensuing polls.

As per the ECI directions, the EVM ballot papers will be printed in the following languages: Boath, Mudhole, Jukkal - Marathi and Telugu Nizamabad (Urban) - Telugu and Urdu Musheerabad, Malakpet, Amberpet, Khairatabad, Jubilee Hills, Sanathnagar, Nampalli, Karwan, Goshamahal, Charminar, Chandrayangutta, Yakutpura, Bahadurpura, Secunderabad and Secunderabad Cantonment - Telugu, English and Urdu.  For the remaining 100 Assembly constituencies, ballot paper will be printed in Telugu only.
