HYDERABAD: TRS leader and former Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao, in response to a notice served by Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar for alleged use of harsh and abusive language, said that he had not violated the model code of conduct.

The office of the CEO had recently issued notices to Harish Rao, Congress leaders A Revanth Reddy and V Pratap Reddy and TDP leader R Prakash Reddy for ‘inflammatory statements’ made during their respective public meetings.

Retaliating to some statements made by some TDP leaders made a few days ago, Harish Rao is alleged to have told them, “I will cut off your tongues.” Kumar told Express that Rao’s reply to the notice had been received on Sunday.

“We will examine the reply and take appropriate action based on what was said,” Kumar said.
