HYDERABAD: IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao on Saturday said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is secular in his deeds, not just in his words. Addressing a meeting of Muslims here on Saturday, Rama Rao alleged that the Congress and other parties treated the minority community as a vote bank, but KCR had proved that he was secular through action.

There was no curfew in Hyderabad in the last four years. For the first time, more than 200 residential schools were constructed for minority students, Rama Rao said. “The TRS government never discriminated against anyone and treats all castes and religions equally,” the leader asserted. “KCR achieved the creation of Telangana by following Gandhi’s path of non-violence,” Rama Rao said and added that KCR would continue as Chief Minister for 20 more years. Coming down heavily on the Grand Alliance, KTR mocked that if there were 50 chief ministerial candidates, there would be no stability in governance.

Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali, who was also present at the meet, said Muslims had been neglected until the TRS came to power. “Muslims have made much progress under TRS rule,” he said and recalled that the pink party had started residential schools and launched schemes including Shaadi Mubarak for Muslims. Home Minster N Narasimha Reddy and others were present.
