Lend your ears to superhit songs

The superhit songs by legendary singers including K J Yesudas, P Jayachandran, S Janaki to the latest Mollywood and Hollywood numbers will be recreated by new singing talents at the Durbar Hall open theatre on Saturday evening.

Led by Santhosh Chandra, who won the ‘Gandharvasangeetham Award’, the event titled ‘Sangeetha Sadassu’ will begin by 6.30 pm.The musical eve is being organised jointly by Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy, District Administration and District Tourism Promotion Council.   The programme is being organised as part of the weekend artistic night planned by the district administration, which is aimed at providing high class entertainment to  Kochiites. Along with Santhosh Chandran Kollam, a team of prominent playback singers will also render hit numbers during the two-hour-long programme.  The admission to the event is free, the organisers said.

The district administration will also initiate  steps to organise various cultural programmes during the Onam season.

The Durbar Hall open air auditorium will be one of the major venues this year for the Onam-related programmes. Musical nights and traditional art performances will be the major highlights this year. The events will also be held at the Marine Drive and movies will be screened at the Children’s Park auditorium.
