KOCHI: The Film Exhibitors’ United Organisation of Kerala(FEUOK)on Wednesday said it had not expelled disgraced actor Dileep from its membership. This followed a meeting of the FEUOK office-bearers here. “The post of president will be given back to him once he is released on bail. We do not think Dileep, a philanthropist, is a culprit. We have not ousted him from FEUOK membership.

He has been kept away from the post of the president and vice president is holding the chair as there is a case pending against Dileep. What will be the reaction of those who accused Dileep if he is absolved from the case like the High Court quashed the decision of Chalakkudy Municipality to close down D Cinemas owned by the actor?” asked the office-bearers.

“ The Chalakkudy Municipality jumped the gun without verifying the records of the theatre complex. We will look into the matter and will take further steps after getting a copy of the HC order,” said M C Bobby, vice-president, FEUOK.Back in July, FEUOK - the association of theatre owners in the state - had expelled Dileep after he was taken into custody in the actor assault case.
