Traditional beauty secrets have come back with a vengeance and enjoying newfound appreciation the world over. Jaypore.com is not just witnessing this revolution but also actively participating in it. Nidhi Raj Singh speaks to Co-founder Shilpa Sharma on its newly-launched beauty line.

How will your new range of products further Jaypore.com’s brand identity?

Jaypore.com has always been mindful of associating itself with Indian tradition. With our new range of beauty products, we have found a way to package Indian traditional ingredients and age-old recipes in chemical-free formulations. Having said that, we are not averse to using modern elements like activated charcoal.

What all does the range include?

We source ingredients from farms across the country. The products are then developed and tested in a licensed laboratory in Delhi-NCR. The range includes an orange and charcoal facepack, a haldi and chandan powder scrub, a rose and oatmeal scrub, a jasmine body lotion, a rose body lotion, a rose and chamomile skin toner, and a lemon and tulsi facewash. While most of these come in bottles, there are a few easy-to-use DIY recipes too. Priced between `200 and `500, all our products are free of SLES, paraben and chemical fragrances.


Are your existing consumers positively responding?

Yes. We did a sampling drive with our existing customers before the launch and were encouraged by the response we received. Since these products are exclusively available on our website, we will find a strong following from our existing consumer base that are already in love with contemporary Indian fusion apparels, jewellery and home accents available on our website.

Why did you get into the beauty realm? What are your plans for the coming months?

Last year, we experimented with high-frequency beauty products such as soaps and oils. After an overwhelming response and a steady flow of orders, we further built on the idea of launching our own range of products. We are now working on an appropriate beauty range for the winter season.
