NEW DELHI: Jamie Lee Curtis, who made her acting debut with John Carpenter’s ‘Halloween’ back in 1978, is returning for the new installment in the horror franchise.

Curtis confirmed that she'll be reprising her iconic role of ‘Laurie Strode’ in the reboot after forty years.

Taking to her Twitter page, the 58-year-old actress posted a picture of her standing on the front porch with masked killer Michael Myers behind her.

She captioned the snap, "Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween. Release date 10/19/18."

David Gordon Green will direct the new ‘Halloween,’ while Carpenter will be an executive producer and creative consultant on this film.

The horror movie is being produced by Trancas International Films, Blumhouse Productions and Miramax.

Blumhouse Productions' Twitter page also confirmed about the actress return on the popular franchise by posting the same picture and captioning, “Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode in HALLOWEEN, released by Universal Pictures October 19, 2018. #HalloweenMovie”

In the movie, Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

After her first big break in the 1978 classic, Curtis went on to return four times for the franchise for sequels.

She subsequently played ‘Laurie’ for Strode in Halloween II (1981), Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998) and Halloween: Resurrection (2002).

The film is slated to hit the theaters on October 19, 2018.
