WWE wrestler John Cena to star alongside Jackie Chan for upcoming action-thriller

LOS ANGELES: WWE wrestler John Cena will be seen starring in an action-thriller, 'Project X', alongside Jackie Chan. 

The 41-year old, John Cena replaced Sylvester Stallone, according to a report by Variety.

The story is about a Chinese private security contractor (played by Chan) who is sent to the Middle East to extract the oil workers when a China-run oil refinery is attacked. The story narrates the long battle between the attackers and Jackie Chan who teams up with an American (played by Cena), a former marine officer, to stop them.                              

Chan, 64, is also producing the film along with Joe Tam, Esmond Ren, and Hans Canosa. The script has been penned down by Arash Amel.

Cena, meanwhile, will also be seen in 'Bumblebee' alongside Hailee Steinfeld and it is scheduled to release on December 21, this year.
