Evoluzione presents Shivan and Naresh’s spring/summer collection  Fontana, which is inspired by the vibrancy and innovativeness of Italian painter-sculptor Lucio Fontana’s artwork.

Their designs aim at making swimsuits become an active part of the Indian wardrobe, providing confidence to Indian women through their ‘prêt’ and the ‘made to measure’ services.

The soft brutality of slashed and stabbed canvases of Lucio Fontana expose an artistic dimension often unremembered – the negative space, peeking through the slashes and dots of Fontana’s spatialist canvases. Coupled with lemon tints in brazen resortwear, the ensembles emphasise the subtle seduction of the skin.

With its gashed facets, creating an alluring sense of mystery and sensuality through the painful beauty of the negative behind the ever-powerful positive, the swimwear, in monochromes, returns this season, bolder, with lacerated signature maillots, bikinis and trikinis.

Through its modest cuts, bold usage of colour and handcrafting, the designers’ collection impact the Indian cultural ethos.

The collection will be on display at Evoluzione, Khader Nawaz Khan Road, Nungambakkam, till May end. For details, contact 2833 3627.
