Searching for perfection

After winning accolades for his rocking guitarist act in ‘Rock On,’ Arjun Rampal is now ready to turn mean with his shrewd politician act in Prakash Jha’s ‘Rajneeti.’ Currently in Bhopal, closely watching the local politicians preparing for campaigning before the Lok Sabha elections,  Arjun is trying all he can to perfect his role in the film. “My character in ‘Rajneeti’ is very challenging and at the same time really interesting. I play the role of a politician who has a lot of influence in North Indian states such as Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. We are shooting in Bhopal right now to lend authenticity to the subject.” The preparation doesn’t end at that. “Prakashji recommended a few books and articles on politicians to prepare for the role. So I read several of these books at the library at the Bhopal University.”  Is there any similarity between the role he dons in the film and any real life politician? “Even if there is, I’m sorry I can’t reveal it. I really can’t take the name of the politician as I’m not allowed to speak about him right now.” The star, who has shaved his head for the role, said, “I really miss my hair. But kuch paane ke liye kuch khona padta hai na?”
