Hotelier Krishna Tamang of TAP Restobar hosted Sonu Nigam and Bickram Ghosh’s party to celebrate the tryst their film “Jal” had with the Oscars and the success of their first non-film music album together, “The Music Room.”
The guests included Shatrughan Sinha, Pahlaj Nihalani, Alka Yagnik, Anup Jalota, Shirish Kunder, Divya Dutta, Nikhil Dwivedi, Shaan, Sona Mohapatra, Kailesh Kher, Subhash Ghai, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sharib-Toshi, Prasoon Joshi, Salim-Sulaiman and Udit Narayan, among many others.
“The Music Room,” an album marketed by Times Music, is an iconic collaboration between singer Nigam and percussionist Ghosh. The duo has also scored music for “Jal,” “Sooper se Ooper” and one song in “Singh Saab the Great.”
The album introduces music lovers to a new and original genre created by the duo. “We call it Muddy Electronica because it has the fragrance of the soil,” smiled Nigam, who has also written some of the lyrics for the seven-track album.
