Julie 2 to Hit Screens on August 12

Julie 2, actor Raai Laxmi's debut film in Bollywood is also her 50th film in the industry. Interestingly, Julie 2's unit is all set to release the first look of the film on Valentine’s Day. 

While those on the social media space have been going ga ga over the picture that the actress has tweeted by calling it the first look, Laxmi says that the pic she tweeted was part of the initial options they had and falls under the category ‘is there and isn’t there in the film’. 

Therefore, the first look, the actress clarifies, will be the picture that is to be released tomorrow by the production house.  

Giving details about the film and her role in it, Raai Laxmi says,"The film's caption reads bold...beautiful...blessed. This film is indeed all of those. Also, I consider myself blessed for having got a film like this as my debut in Bollywood. It is a really special film and I am not saying this because this is my 50th film. I am saying it because I was looking for a script that was something special and this script was exactly that. I can tell you that this film is going to touch people's hearts. It has all that I have wanted to do in my films so far and missed out on."

The film, the actress says, will be about the journey of a simple innocent girl who goes on to become a top actress. "Director Deepak Shivdasani has shot this film so realistically that it will be one of the best films of my career. The story not only tells you who she is before becoming an actress but the circumstances under which she becomes an actress and how she deals with the situations after that. This film revolves around my character. There is not a single frame in which you will not see me," says Laxmi, who also discloses that her fans will be in for a treat as she sports almost 25- 30 looks for this film.

"In fact, I will be seen in 96 different outfits. Also, I was asked to lose and then put on weight for this film," she says, hinting at the amount of hard work that has gone into the film. 

So, how many kilos did she have to lose and gain exactly? 
"For the first look of the film, I had to lose 10-11 kilos and soon after, I had to gain more than what I had to lose,"says the actress, who has completed the film in six-and-a-half months. 

Laxmi says that although the film belongs to the popular Julie franchise, it is an individual story and not a continuation. “This film might not be based on a real life story but a lot of people will be able to relate to it. In fact, I have gone through lots of things that this girl in the film goes through.”

Finally, when is the film releasing and will it be made in Tamil as well?
“The date is already confirmed. The film is to hit screens on August 12 and yes, it is to be made in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and those languages where I am known,” she signs off.
