'I will cast new names when I become a big name'

After Sarbjit, Omung Kumar’s new film is a psycho thriller. All that we know about its cast is that it will have a major star in the lead role ... just as there was Priyanka Chopra headlining Mary Kom and Aishwarya Rai topping the cast of Sarbjit.

Omung Kumar seems to have a fascination with marquee names. He explains, “I will cast newcomers when I become a big name. See, when you have a limited budget, you fit into that and make a fantastic film; but when you have a newcomer in it, it dies down and become a small film.”

The director says the choice is simple: “Either I become so big that I can sign newcomers and get money to make my film or I continue to cast established actors until that happens.”
