The 1920 actress is all set to explore a new genre in her next with Vidyut Jammwal

From depicting a spectre in her first film, 1920 (2008), to a nagging girlfriend in Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), Adah Sharma is keeping it versatile. She’s also keeping herself busy. “The last day on the sets of Hasee Toh Phasee was when I shot the Shake it like Shammi song with Sidharth Malhotra. Then I left immediately for Hyderabad, to begin shooting for my Telugu debut, Heart Attack,” recalls the 27-year-old, who then debuted in Kannada opposite Puneeth Rajkumar. She has since done five more films in Telugu—the most recent being Kshanam—and a Tamil flick.
The Mumbai-based actress will soon be seen in Commando 2 (sequel of the 2013 action film), opposite Vidyut Jammwal (of Force fame). And the trained Kathak dancer promises twice the action. Raising the bar with her stunt sequences, Sharma underwent training with stunt director Franz Spilhaus and his team from South Africa. “I even had training on how to use the gun convincingly.”
Hoping to act in romantic films in the future, Sharma says that she is also attempting comedy in this film. “I’m trying many different things in Commando 2. I’ve never had so much fun with a character,” laughs the Idhu Namma Aalu actress. However, Sharma is close-lipped about her role in Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos. “I am a little superstitious; I like to speak about a film only when I finish 50 per cent of it,” she concludes.

Commando 2 is expected to release in January 2017.
