Akshay Kumar fans have a reason to rejoice as their idol will be sharing equal screen presence as Tamil megastar Rajinikanth in Shankar’s upcoming magnum-opus, 2.0. Earlier, there were reports that `350-crore project will be promoted as a ‘Rajinikanth film’ like all other Thalaivar releases. But now, it has been confirmed that the sequel to 2010 blockbuster, Enthiran (2010) will be promoted as ‘Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar film’.
Reportedly, the makers, Lyca Productions have decided to market their humongous project as ‘Thalaivar-Khiladi film’.
Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar are touted to be two of the biggest superstars of India and both actors have equal screen presence in 2.0.
And Akshay Kumar is going through one of the best phases of his career by delivering three `100 crore hits this year with Airlift, Housefull 3 and Rustom.
So the makers of 2.0 are expecting the same response for their film in Bollywood market unlike its prequel, Enthiran, which was an average grosser in Hindi belt. Interestingly, 2.0 will be promoted as ‘Akshay Kumar –Rajinikanth film’ in North India.
2.0 also star Amy Jackson, Malayalam actor Kalabhavan Shajon and Adil Hussain.
