MUMBAI: The city police today arrested singer Yash Wadali in a molestation case.

A 39-year-old woman had accused Wadali of molesting her on August 2.

Bangurnagar police here arrested the 27-year-old singer when he was performing at a `restobar' in suburban Andheri a little after midnight.

Seeing the cops, he stopped his performance and tried to escape through the kitchen, but was nabbed, said a police officer.

A magistrate's court remanded him in judicial custody till August 18.

The victim had alleged that Wadali misbehaved with her during a party at her friend's place.

A quarrel broke out between Wadali and her over singing a song, and he grabbed her collar "with the intention of outraging her modesty" and also abused her, said the complaint.

Police have registered a case under section 354 of IPC (outraging woman's modesty).
