Nagraj Manjule, who has made critically and commercially successful films like 'Sairat' and 'Fandry' has announced on Facebook that his next film will feature Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan.

The rough translation of his Facebook post is given below:

"When we saw the 'Deewar'', we used to make a knot on our shirts (like Bachchan did in the movie) and go to school. Despite the getting the teacher's beating for coming to the school like that, we used to keep the knot.

We used to steal the donkeys of our friends and imitate scenes from Sholay's, but I used to direct it. After seeing 'Yaarana', we used to trouble neighbours by saying (the famous tongue twister) 'Kacha Pappad Pakka Pappad'.

Don't know after seeing how many films I used to entertain my friends by narrating the stories of films like Don, 'Coolie', 'Satte Pe Satta', 'Shehanshah', Laawaris, Sharabi etc.

One of my favourite actors from childhood, which is the great hero of the century, today is the hero of my next Hindi film today, and what news could bring more happiness than this !

Here is his post:

Manjule's first feature film, 'Fandry' was made in 2013 and talked about caste discrimination faced by Dalits in a Maharashtrian village. The hard hitting film won the Indira Gandhi Award for Best First Film of Director at the 61st National Awards.

His second film, 'Sairat', a musical romantic film became a sensation and became the first Marathi film to cross Rs 50 crore mark and ran for 100 days in Maharashtra. The film was about a lower caste boy who falls in love with the daughter of a rich-upper-caste landlord.

Bollywood's own Big B has inspired a generation of Indians. His on screen persona as the angry young man gave the ideal image for many who were reluctant to protest against the system which was oppressing them.

In the light of how Manjule made his first two films, it would be interesting to see how he would treat the Bollywood superstar's character in the upcoming film.
