The much-anticipated spy thriller Dhruva Natchathiram, which was originally planned with Suriya and was later dropped for various reasons, is finally being revived with Vikram, and the project will be helmed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. With the pre-production work underway, the project is slated to kick off from later this month or early next month. The rest of the cast is in the process of being finalised and reliable sources have told City Express that Gautham has plans to rope in megastar Amitabh Bachchan for a pivotal role.

“When the film was originally planned with Suriya, Amitabh Bachchan was supposed to play the role of the Indian President. Gautham is seriously considering the option and he hopes to meet him with the offer soon,” said a source, adding that the film’s title will be retained.
Tipped to be made on an international scale, it’s also possible the film might feature a popular star from Telugu filmdom. “The film will be made as a bilingual — in Tamil and Telugu — and Gautham felt it would make sense to rope in someone well-known from Tollywood.”
Last week, Gautham and Vikram travelled to Dubai together. Although the purpose of the visit remains a mystery, it is believed it had to do with their upcoming project. Among the heroines, Nayanthara is front-runner for the leading lady’s role.
