BANGALORE: Here is a piece of news young generation need to know about T P Kailasam, the well-known Kannada playwright. Producer SV Babu has made a documentary — Kailawesome — that explains the greatness of this prominent writer of Kannada literature. The documentary is inspired by the classic play Typical Arathi, written by A S Murthy.

The writer of the play gives each one of his characters some shades that associates wih today’s society, the relevance of the character in most cases is just contemporary for the era of the play. The movie — Kailawesome — is about a tussle between the legendary playwright T P Kailasam and the character that he created. Each female character of his play comes back to life just to question him ‘why? why? and only why me?’.

What does the legend have to to say about this? Is this the ghost of his past, which is reminiscing the character shades from the examples of his life. The audience will embark on a journey walking hand in hand with the legend.

The four female characters from four plays of TPK can be found in the movie. Simply Kailawesome, all four characters played by Chaya Singh which is going to last in the memory of all cine buffs. The man behind the camera is Shreesha Kudavalli, while Sri has edited this film and Anoop Seelin has composed music. MG Srinivas, apart from playing the lead role, has handled the megaphone for this film. Srinivas said the objective of the film is to create awareness about Kannada language. “Our objective is to tell people about the importance of Kailasam and why was he considered as a special playwright in Kannada?” says Srinivas.

Movie buffs can watch the documentary at KH Soudha from October 8 to 10 between 7 pm and 9 pm.
