A new entrant into Sandalwood: Anup

In spite of being Sa Ra Govindu's (Producer and President of Dr Rajkumar Association) son, it was luck by chance for this new entrant Anup.

Studying in II PUC, the 18-year-old boy is making his foray into the industry with Dove alongside actors Rakesh, and Pragna. "I am yet to foster my love for cinema as my first film was incidental. Director Santhu of Dove liked me and he was convinced that I would suit one of the characters in the film," explained Anup.

Anup is quite upbeat about the positive reception that his first film has received.

"It was a good experience and everyone was quite supportive. Though I am still polishing my acting skills, I did not get nervous during the photo shoot which was held recently. Santhu has already put me under aggressive fitness training, dance class and some tips to get better in front of the camera. The crew plans its first schedule on December 9 when I can really start enjoying my new journey,” he admitted.

Coming from film background (his father was in the industry for a decade), did Anup feel that he had it in him to get into tinsel town? "It hasn't sunk in yet. I haven't felt the heat or pressure so far. As I said earlier, this happened out of chance. In fact, Santhu was really keen to have me on board and my father informed me about the same," he said.

With actors trying to grab attention at every stage in the industry, most of them are preparing themselves much before getting into the industry. However, this is not the case with Anup, he said.

"I am right now completely concentrating on my studies and that will remain my main focus. Let me know how I will go through this first film to decide about my future. Only later, I will think of the balancing act."

He naturally has an affinity towards Sandalwood with his father Sa Ra Govindu being a well known senior actor in the industry.

"He has been an inspiration to me too. He motivated me to take this project up and also learn alongside," said Anup, who further added,"Let me first put in my hundred percent in the first film. Only then the names of other popular directors will come into my mind. Maybe some director who liked my performance would like to have me in his film," he asserted.

Though he doesn't have any favourite director, he admires a few actors in particular. "Despite several new actors being introduced on a regular basis, I personally like Puneeth Rajkumar and Sudeep," he concluded.
