Archana’s first negative role in Aryan

Archana’s first negative role in Aryan

After her Sandalwood debut in Circus opposite Ganesh in 2009, model and actress Archana Gupta followed it up with three more films in Kannada, viz., Lift Kodla, Karthik and Achchu Mechchu, after which she disappeared.

Now, she is making a comeback with Aryan opposite Shivarajkumar and along with the lead heroine, Ramya. “I chose roles according to the script. To my bad luck, nothing interesting came after the few films I did in Kannada and so my absence was felt,” said Archana.

Aryan will see Archana essaying the role of a negative character, which will be a first for the actress. “I don’t consider it as a complete negative role. I just prod the hero only to seek his love,” she chuckles and added. “Conversely, if a role requires me to get bad, I am very much willing to do so. As long as the story is good, it shouldn’t  bother whether the actress play a glam, positive or negative role.”

On the cast and the makers of the film, she seems to be quite comfortable. “I have done a commercial with Shivarajkumar for a jewellery product where I got to interact with the senior actor. That prompted me to pick up this project. I have heard a lot about the director D Rajendra Babu and though I haven’t met Ramya, I know for a fact that she is considered to be popular actress in Kannada. The end result is that I will be working with a good team,” she added.

As an actress, Archana has managed to garner attention in Hollywood too. The actress recently completed shooting for an English film titled Desires of the Heart. “The director saw my pictures on the net and thought I would suit the role in his Hollywood movie. It was a good experience to work with different kind of people,” said Archana, who is currently busy with a Tamil film, Iruvar Ullam opposite Vinay Rai.

Before shooting for Aryan, Archana will make her presence felt in Bangalore on March 1 to launch her new music album, which is in Hindi and Kannada.
