Muktha Elsa George, also known as Bhanu, was supposed to make her entry into Sandalwood with Brindaavana but due to a last minute decison taken by the film makers, she was replaced by Milana Nagaraj. “I know the movie has been released. But I am still very upset with their unprofessional behaviour. I have nothing much to say but I feel hurt,” says Bhanu, who explains that if opportunities are provided, one can display their talent.
Meanwhile, the actress has finally bagged her first Kannada film, Darling, directed by Santhu where she is starring opposite Yogi. “Santhu liked my performance in other language films and chose me. As it is, I liked the role of a girl-next-door character and so, I am on board,” she adds.
With another Malayalee entering the Kannada film industry, she is taking tips from Bhama who is her good friend. Bhanu further says, “I have watched a few songs of yet-to-be-released Ambara starring Yogi and Bhama and I was floored by the picturisation. Of course, I got to see Santhu’s works as I watched a few clippings of Alemari. That’s when I decided to take up the project.” Though she has been part of Tamil and Malayalam films for some time now, she is tensed as this is her first Kannada film. “I feel the language is difficult compared to Tamil and Malayalam. As of now, I am sitting at home and constantly hooked on to social networking sites, learning a few Kannada words so as to get the diction right.”
Bhanu has also completed a Malayalam film, Angry Birds that stars Bhavana who is busy with a couple of films in Kollywood and Mollywood. “The photo-shoot for Darling will commence on October 15 and the film will roll out from October 25,” says Bhanu.
Interestingly, the actress does a lot more than just acting. She is a classical dancer and an entrepreneur too. “I am doing a lot of stage shows in the South. Apart from that, I am managing a beauty salon. I feel the life of an actress is very short and can only survive in the industry for 4 to 5 years, while my business set up will take me forward and keep me busy. So I decided to start this when I still have energy. I am quite enjoying it,” she signs off.
